Document Delivery

Document Delivery Services handles all requests for documents, specifications, and reports. The staff manages the documents collection of over 800,000 items.
Materials that are not already part of the Library's collections, or that cannot be obtained online are obtained from commercial or other fee-based sources. Use the reports electronic request form. Contact the Documents Technician, Janis Dick at 3-5781, for assistance.

Standards and Specifications

The Library offers a central location for obtaining the latest government and industry requirements, specifications, standards, and guidelines used in the various research programs at Glenn. The Library provides full-text access to a number of online resources for standards and specifications:

• IHS Standards - This product is available through the NASA Technical Standards.
• NASA Technical Standards - A site that provides help with identifying relevant NASA standards. Free online registration is required.
• ASSIST Online - Provides access to current information associated with military and federal specifications and standards in the management of the Defense Standardization Program (DSP). Free registration is required.

Requests for documents that you cannot find at these sites may be placed using the reports electronic request form. A paper form is available to complete if you are at the Library. Contact the Documents Technician, 3-5781, for assistance.

Standards Collections and Organizations

The Agency-wide online resource for NASA preferred and other technical standards products is found at NASA Technical Standards Program . Register for access at the site to be able to download or request documents be sent to you. There is no cost.
The IHS site is an electronic resource for the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code. No registration is required for access. It is available only from a GRC IP address.

Space Station, Payload and Shuttle documents

The Library provides a central location for obtaining International Space Station, ELV (Expendable Launch Vehicles), payload, and Shuttle documents. Requests for documents may be placed using the reports electronic request form. A paper form is available to complete if you are at the Library.
